How to use usb device reaper audio9/6/2023 ![]() ![]() You must have been an English teacher, or maybe one of your parents! You know I meant Yamaha / Steinberg ! Hahaha! Port 5 is for the Remote Editor for setting up control over VSTi Port 3 you can connect an external module to the MX’s MIDI jacks so an external device can communicate with you computer Port 2 you setup for Remote Control over the DAW Port 1 you setup for all musical functions (notes, controllers, tempo, etc) these are the familiar 16 MIDI channels for music play, record and playback. Each MIDI Port is an IN and an OUT and each PORT has 16 MIDI channels both coming and going… Just FYI. Which I guarantee are separate from your audio settings… Even though I’ve never seen Reaper. The Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver (there is no such thing as a “Steinberg driver") will be selected in the appropriate places for MIDI setup. Select the driver for your audio interface it has nothing whatever to do with MIDI communication. MIDI is a separate protocol from audio, and the setup is totally separate in every DAW. ![]()
